Comics 101 for 05/19/2005 Star Wars: Empire #31 Cover - Layouts, Finished Pencil Art and Final Colors
Here's a look at my process of creating the cover art for Dark Horse ComicsStar Wars: Empire #31 (written by Scott Allie) from my layouts and pencil art to Brad Anderson's final colors.
First, after reading Scott's script, I develop my thumbnail sketches, then I build up towards larger rough sketches. After my editor approves which concept sketch he wants to see for the cover I finish the full size pencil art. The penciled cover is sent to Brad who then works his magic painting over my pencils with digital color. Have a look below.
